AUSTRALIAN MGA

challenge
an australian MGA was looking to expand into the construction market, cross-selling to its brokers placing strata business.
their capacity provider, a lloyd's of london syndicate, required sufficient comfort that the MGA could correctly identify locations at risk of wildfire and flood.
solution
the MGA utilised WEATHER ANALTIX™ for its underwriting team. the underwriters used the hazard risk scores to quickly identify locations with less than 1:100 year return period of flood or wildfire occurring.
it was written into the MGA's binding authority that all risk scores marked as 'medium' or below were within underwriting scope. locations scoring higher had to be submitted to the syndicate for review.
BirdsEyeView enabled the MGA to secure the required capacity as BirdsEyeView already worked with the lloyds syndicate.
